Visiting
Blackmore & Langdon's on the Saturday the first thing I noticed was how cold it
felt as I got out of the car. A real chill was in the air, the
beginning of May? Still, straight into the show house, with not too
much in flower, mind you still 2 weeks to go till Chelsea and the
weather not being very friendly with lots of cloudy dull days and
the odd splash of rain. Even my own plants are a bit behind,
hopefully soon that orange red glow that we see in the sky will
return. The quality of the foliage on all the plants were
exceptional, even on their bedding & seedlings the foliage was
excellent and all looked extremely healthy.
The flowers of John Smith, Pink Champaign, Saturn & Apollo were the
only flowers on show the others were still some way off. There was
also 1 or 2 delphiniums about. I only walked away with a few pendula
varieties to add to my own collection.
