Cuttings |
|
In July 2005 I attended Bellcross Nurseries Open Day.
Among the demonstrations was one for taking begonia cuttings.
Their method is demonstrated below. |
|
1.

The Cutting.

2.

There is a small eye in the base
of the 'V'. |
3.

The leaf before it is rounded off with
a sharp knife into a
smaller leaf. |
|
4.

The rounded off leaf
and the eye in the leaf axle.
. |
5.

The stem stub is trimmed to a flat base and inserted
into the growing medium.
. |
6.

Waste not, want not. The side cutting from the
former is treated the same way and used as a cutting. |
